- The 24-hour Beijing Service counter at international arrivals helps with the Wi-Fi and issues SIM cards.
- Google, WhatsApp and other blocked apps don't work on the airport Wi-Fi. Use a VPN (connect it after the Wi-Fi login), or turn Wi-Fi off and use a roaming eSIM.
Beijing Daxing airport Wi-Fi login
To log in at Beijing Daxing, join BDIA-FREE-WIFI and take a photo of your passport’s photo page on the login page. The Beijing government said in December 2025 that this verifies your identity quickly and gets you free Wi-Fi.
IT Home, a Chinese tech news site, reported in October 2026 that Chinese law requires a real-name login the first time you connect to public Wi-Fi. China Civil Aviation News (中国民航报) reported in July 2026 that Daxing offers four ways to log in: a phone number, a WeChat mini program, a login from a Wi-Fi kiosk, and an ID document such as a passport.
- In your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, join
BDIA-FREE-WIFI. - Wait for the login page to open in your browser. If it doesn’t, open a plain http address such as
http://example.com. NordVPN’s help center suggests this to bring the page up. - Log in with one of the methods below.
A 2024 Beijing government guide named the network Green Airport. The December 2025 article names BDIA-FREE-WIFI. Official page: Free Wi-Fi at Daxing Airport (Beijing government).
Passport photo (no Chinese number needed)
On the login page, take a photo of your passport’s photo page. A supervisor in the airport’s information management department told China Civil Aviation News that arriving foreign passengers can log in this way without turning on international roaming. The passport login works offline and doesn’t need a kiosk.
Phone number
You can also log in with a phone number and a code sent by text. Whether Daxing sends the code to foreign numbers is not confirmed. The 2024 Beijing government guide to both Beijing airports said the text login was best for Chinese numbers, and pointed foreign visitors to the kiosks. If no code arrives, use the passport photo.
If you already use WeChat, you can log in through a WeChat mini program. An airport supervisor told China Civil Aviation News this is the easiest way for passengers. Separately, the Beijing government says the airport’s own mini program, 北京大兴机场, has an Inbound Passenger Guide in English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese and Korean. It covers entry and transfer procedures, tax refunds and currency exchange.
Fill in your arrival card
Once you’re online, you can fill in your arrival card. The Beijing government says foreign travelers can scan the designated QR code and fill in the card on the National Immigration Administration’s official platform. China Civil Aviation News reported that the airport improved the Wi-Fi signal in the terminal’s arrival areas and added an arrival card guide to the login page.
If you land at Beijing’s other international airport, see our Beijing Capital airport Wi-Fi guide.
Daxing airport Wi-Fi kiosks
Daxing’s Wi-Fi kiosks give you a login for the Wi-Fi page. The Beijing government says you can get a number from a “WiFi number machine” before you have a local SIM card. It says staff at the Beijing Service counter at the International Arrivals exit will help you connect.
The steps below come from the 2024 Beijing government guide, written for both Beijing airports:
- Find a kiosk. If you can’t, show airport staff this sentence: 请问最近的无线上网身份验证自助终端在哪里? It asks where the nearest Wi-Fi identity check kiosk is.
- Open your passport to the photo page and slip it into the slot marked 护照扫码口 Passport Scanning. The kiosk prints a username and password.
- On the login page, enter the username where it says 输入账号 (enter account) and the password where it says 输入密码 (enter password).
- Tap 登录 (Login).
Where the kiosks are at Daxing is not confirmed. China Civil Aviation News reported that the airport has put up Wi-Fi signs at terminal entrances and exits, check-in areas and international arrivals. It also shows a how-to guide on the flight information screens and has trained front-line staff to help passengers connect.
Daxing airport free Wi-Fi: time limit and speed
A login through the WeChat mini program lasts up to 6 months, and each passenger gets 13 Mbps on average. Both figures come from China Civil Aviation News in July 2026. The airport says you don’t need to log in again during those 6 months. It also adds 20% more bandwidth in July and August.
How long a passport or phone login lasts is not confirmed. The 2024 Beijing government guide said a kiosk login gave five hours online, and one ID could print up to three logins. Whether that still applies at Daxing is not confirmed.
IT Home reported that a Wi-Fi self-service area opened in the international departure area in July 2026. It has seats and computers that passengers can use free after a real-name login.
What doesn’t work on Daxing airport Wi-Fi
Google, WhatsApp and other blocked apps don’t work on the airport Wi-Fi without a VPN. The airport Wi-Fi is a Chinese network, so the usual blocks apply. Airalo says Google (including Gmail and Maps), Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube and WhatsApp are generally inaccessible on local networks in China.
A roaming eSIM doesn’t help while your phone is on the Wi-Fi. Airalo says its eSIM gives full access to blocked sites “as long as you are using your eSIM data (and not the hotel Wi-Fi)”. The same goes for airport Wi-Fi: turn Wi-Fi off to use the eSIM’s data.
More on whether WhatsApp works in China and on choosing between an eSIM and a VPN for China.
Other ways to get online when you land
If the airport Wi-Fi isn’t enough, use a roaming eSIM, a Chinese SIM card or a VPN.
A roaming eSIM
A roaming eSIM gives you mobile data without the airport login. Airalo says its eSIM data is routed through secure gateways outside mainland China, which is why blocked sites work on it. Each provider’s routing is in our China eSIM comparison.
A Chinese SIM card at the airport
You can get a Chinese SIM card at Daxing’s Beijing Service counter at the International Arrivals exit. The Beijing government says the counter, open since January 1, 2025, offers fast SIM card issuance and help with the airport Wi-Fi.
People’s Daily Overseas Edition reported in February 2026 that the counter, on level 1 at international arrivals, is open 24 hours. It described a couple from Spain who got a local SIM card in 3 minutes after an identity check. Staff also helped them set up WeChat and Alipay. More on Alipay for foreigners.
You can also apply online for a China Unicom SIM card and collect it at the counter. For a China Mobile card, the Beijing government says staff will direct you to that operator’s counter at the airport. A Beijing government answer from February 2025 lists the operators’ own outlets at Daxing:
- China Mobile: service hall in the domestic departure hall on level 3, open 9:00 to 19:00.
- China Unicom: outlet on the ground floor, east of the tourism information office, open 7:00 to 19:00. It only handles SIM card purchases.
A Chinese SIM uses a local network, so the same apps stay blocked on it.
A VPN
If you use a VPN, finish the Wi-Fi login with the VPN off, then connect it. NordVPN’s help center calls the login page on public Wi-Fi at hotels, airports and cafes a captive portal. It says auto-connect stops that page from loading, and a kill switch blocks all non-VPN traffic, so the page never appears.
- Turn off your VPN’s auto-connect and kill switch, and disconnect the VPN.
- Join
BDIA-FREE-WIFIand complete the login. - If the login page doesn’t appear, open a plain http address such as
http://example.com. NordVPN suggests this to bring the page up. - Connect the VPN, then turn the kill switch and auto-connect back on.
